Major Kate Philp is a former Royal Artillery officer. Her military experience in Iraq and Afghanistan and a life-changing injury are part of the unique story she wants to share with us together with the key lessons she has learned from dealing with it.

At the age of 25, Kate was posted in Iraq where she was responsible for 40 soldiers some of them older and more experienced than her. In 2008, Kate lost her left leg below the knee in Afghanistan, when the Warrior that she was commanding ran over a 50kg Taliban bomb. She was the first British female soldier in recent operations to lose a limb in combat. This tragic event did not stop her on the contrary!

In 2013, she decided she needed a goal to re-focus and so she joined an expedition team and trekked to the South Pole supporting the Charity Walking With The Wounded: 335 km on skis! She was the only British female member of the team, racing to the South Pole.

Kate’s story is amazing but her determination is even more  Always positive, Kate believes that the challenges we face in life, offer the best opportunities for progress. Come and join us, hear her story and her advice to surpass and trust yourself to be able to adapt quickly to new situations.
